Joy Global recently debuted its newest offering for the hard rock mining market – the Joy 16TD truck. Based on the popular DT-1804 truck model, the 16TD features lower hood lines for improved visibility, a digital operator display, shorter turning radius, ground level maintenance and faster speed ramps.
The 16TD is commercially available and replaces the DT-1804 model. The first machine came off the line at the end of September and was set to debut at the Acapulco Mining Show in Mexico from October 7-10 but immediately sold to a customer.
“Our hard rock ready trucks and loaders are designed with operator safety, reliability and ease of maintenance in mind, and the 16TD was built to enhance those features,” said Joy Global Canada general manager Josh Wagner. The new truck was produced by Joy Global Canada.
